The purpose of the ZKP is to unite former active members of the resistance against fascism, to strengthen the anti-fascist and democratic spirit in the spirit of the tradition and history of the NOB, to support the peace movement, to strengthen friendship with other nations, to help partisan invalids, widows and orphans of fallen partisans, to care for partisan graves and to look after more than 50 partisan monuments.
In addition to Carinthian partisans and activists in the anti-fascist struggle, members also include all those who share the goals of the ZKP, so that the hundreds of members since 1984 include more and more younger people who have not personally participated in the NOB. At the 1997 General Assembly, the ZKP therefore decided to change its traditional name and is now called the “Association of Carinthian Partisans and Friends of the Anti-Fascist Resistance (ZKP)”.
The ZKP is connected with the Austrian organizations of fighters against fascism, with the Slovenian ZZB NOV, with similar organizations in the Alpe-Adria region and with the International Union of Resistance Fighters.
